Formal, panoramic BW photo of a large group of people including children. Handwritten text on front of photo reads: Kiwanis Club 2nd Annual Picnic. Seaside Park. Aug 5th 1920". Photo is glued to beige cardboard and was purchased by the donor at the Salvation Army Thrift shop Sept. 2/2014. Photo is 16.75" by 6.75". Cardboard is 19.75" x 10". The only reference to location is Seaside Park. SCMA COLLECTION: We do not have photos of this event or any photos of this particular building but there is a similar building in Photo Number 3020 from the 1930's. Donor writes that 'Seaside Park Cannery N. of Pt Mellon is now long gone and that Kiwanis were first established in Canada in 1919 (in Hamilton Ont). Presumably why photo is captioned as being the 2nd annual.' |
